This five-day retreat set in the beautiful French countryside is a wonderful opportunity to experience the powerful practice of Kundalini Yoga and Meditation. Autumn Equinox is a poignant time in nature and a transition point, as night and day become equal and we shift season into the cooler, more reflective months ahead. This is a time to rest, restore and release anything not serving your highest purpose so you can enter the last part of the year with renewed clarity, energy and focus. Join us this harvest time to celebrate and give thanks for what we have received over the past nine months and to kindle the light within to illuminate our way through the longer nights ahead. 

This is an intimate retreat and space is limited to 14 people, so reserve your space early to avoid disappointment.  Open to all levels of experience, including complete beginners.

CATHERINE PAGE

Catherine Page is a Kundalini Yoga teacher and psychotherapist, with an interest in the powerful link between body and mind and specifically how emotions such as anxiety and depression manifest in the physical body.

Catherine began her career as a Personal Assistant to high profile individuals.  After a varied and colourful career working abroad and in the UK, Catherine returned to University and gained a Master’s Degree and an Advanced Diploma in Psychotherapy and Counselling and currently runs a private practice in Central London. Catherine began training as a Kundalini yoga teacher as a means to bring mind and body together.  She teaches one-to-one private tuition, group classes and for the Leadership Programme of a major UK charity.

Catherine completed her training as a Kundalini yoga teacher in London, France, Russia and India. She is passionate about sharing the teachings of Kundalini yoga as a physical and spiritual practice and as a means to changing the way you feel

ELEANOR PHELAN

Eleanor (Satya Raj Kaur) started practising Kundalini Yoga in 2008 and was amazed at the profoundly healing and transformative effects it had on all aspects of her life. This inspired her to complete her KRI certified Teacher Training with Karam Kriya under Shiv Charan Singh and she now shares these teachings with gratitude and reverence.

Eleanor is an intuitive, warm and uplifting teacher, deeply committed to supporting people in connecting with themselves, working through their blocks and opening up to the experience of their true potential, coming home to the wisdom, strength and beauty that live within.  Eleanor’s classes are strong, yet nurturing: a space where students are supported to rise to the challenges they experience – physical, mental, emotional – and gain a sense of empowerment and elevation from growing in strength, awareness and resilience.

Eleanor teaches group classes and 1:1s in London as well as retreats in Sri Lanka, The Maldives, France and the UK.

Daily Yoga

Our retreat begins on the evening of September 21st and will end after breakfast on the morning of September 25th

Your day will begin with an energising morning yoga class followed by a delicious breakfast served on the terrace. There will be plenty of time either side of lunch to relax, swim in the beautiful salt-water pool, read, enjoy the gardens of La Balie or explore the local villages. Our early evening class will include a meditation and a relaxing gong bath, followed by a nourishing vegetarian dinner. 

Each class will include movement, mantra, meditation, dance and transformative breath work to calm the body and mind and elevate the spirit.

Daily yoga practice will take place either in our beautiful studio with stunning views over rolling countryside or outside in the meadow where practice will end with the sound of the ancient church bells rolling gently through the valley, as they have for hundreds of years.

Accommodation

La Balie is a collection of beautiful 16th Century farm buildings three of which have been converted into light and airy cottages containing a total of eight charming bedrooms each with their own luxury bathroom. Each of the cottages has its own sitting room, fully equipped kitchen, satellite TV and WiFi.

Sophie Glover

Food is a passion at La Balie and we’ll hope to share that with you during your stay. Your retreat includes three nourishing, colourful, and healthy vegetarian meals a day provided by Sophie Glover an experienced private chef and graduate of Leith’s School of Food and Wine. Sophie has travelled extensively in the Mediterranean, US and Europe gaining insight into produce, trends and a plethora of cuisines all of which are incorporated into her relaxed, colourful and healthy style of cooking

To help the Kundalini yoga work its magic, this retreat will be alcohol and caffeine free.

 

 

 

 

 

Activities

After a dynamic morning yoga session and a delicious lunch, there will be plenty of time to relax by the pool, swim, read or meditate before your late afternoon class.

Included in your retreat is a morning visit to a local village where we’ll stay for an alfresco lunch.

 

Travelling to La Balie

La Balie is in the Lot-et-Garonne, 50km south east of Bergerac. There are several ways to travel to La Balie – by air, train or car. For this retreat we suggest you fly into Bergerac airport as we’ll be arranging shared taxis from the airport to La Balie for our recommended flight.

The following airlines fly into Bergerac: British Airways, Flybe, Jet 2 and Ryan Air.

For those of you who prefer to take the train, there is a TGV direct from Paris to Agen which takes 3.5 hours and from where we can arrange a taxi to collect you at an additional cost, or you can connect onto a local train to Monsempron-Libos, where taxis are available.

Hiring a car
La Balie is set within 10 acres of garden, meadow and woodland and is surrounded by beautiful rolling countryside. The peaceful, rural setting means there are no villages within walking distance – if you would like to explore the local towns and villages we recommend you hire a car at Bergerac airport.  Most of the major car hire companies are represented at the airport and a good comparison/booking site can be found at www.rentalcars.com

 

Prices and Deposits

Single accommodation £1200 (private room en-suite bathroom)

Shared accommodation £850 (twin room en-suite bathroom)

 

 

What’s included:

  • Two classes each day (morning and afternoon) with Catherine and Eleanor
  • Trip to a local market including lunch (at an additional cost)
  • Time to relax, walk in nature, swim in the pool, read, journal, meditate
  • Four night’s accommodation at La Balie
  • Three nourishing and nutritious meals per day

Not included: 

  • Flights
  • Shared taxis from Bergerac Airport to La Balie
  • One lunch at a restaurant when we visit the local village market

 

Deposits:

A non-refundable deposit of £425 for a shared room and £600 for a private room is required to reserve your place on the retreat. The balance will be due on or before 25th July, 2019

Cancellation
Please let us know as soon as possible if you are unable to attend the course. If we are able to re-sell your place we’ll refund any payments minus your initial deposit.  In the even that the retreat is cancelled, please check our Terms & Conditions

We strongly recommend that you take out comprehensive travel insurance, including cancellation insurance, when you book the retreat.
