“La Balie was my first experience of a yoga retreat and now I can’t imagine going on any others. The combination of enlightening kundalini and meditation sessions, beautiful surroundings, delicious food and excellent company was truly nourishing to my body and soul. I’ve kept in touch with the ladies I met and incorporated what I’ve learnt into my daily life – but that won’t stop me from returning again!” Charlotte, London

Catherine Page is a Kundalini Yoga teacher and psychotherapist, with an interest in the link between body and mind and specifically how emotions such as anxiety and depression manifest in the physical body.
Catherine began her career as a Personal Assistant working in the UK and abroad for high profile individuals. In 2000 Catherine diversified her career and trained as an integrative psychotherapist in London where she now runs a private practice. With an increasing interest in the mind-body link and specifically how burnout, anxiety and depression manifest in the physical body, Catherine began training as a Kundalini yoga teacher in London, France and Rishikesh.
Catherine is committed to sharing the teachings of Kundalini yoga as a means to tap into the body’s own healing resources. In today’s fast-paced world, where we are all under the pressure of time, Kundalini yoga helps support the immune system, regulate the breath and facilitates a connection between head and heart. It is a transformational practice bringing the physical, the psychological and the spiritual together, thus offering the possibility of change.

“Catherine’s classes are some of the best I have ever been to. Challenging, calming and restorative – they stretch your mind as well as your body, always enabling me to feel at my best, with me leaving a class knowing that I will subsequently be and perform at my best. An essential class for happiness, health, well-being, resilience, strength and confidence. “ Claudia, London
Kathryn McCusker discovered Kundalini Yoga and Meditation in Mexico in 2000 and has been teaching worldwide ever since. After living in London for eleven years, where she taught private clients including Bjork and Rachel McAdams and classes at Triyoga and Alchemy, she returned to Sydney in 2011 to open KMYOGA, Sydney’s first dedicated Kundalini Yoga Studio, which she ran for three years. She has now returned to London where she is again teaching private clients and group classes, as well as leading retreats worldwide.
A professional opera singer for over twenty years, Kathryn’s background in music and voice gives her a deep connection to the transformative power of mantra and pranayama. She infuses this knowledge into her classes, along with deeply relaxing Gong Meditations. She has a keen interest in teaching Kundalini Yoga to creatives and has seen how it has supported and transformed their creative life.
Kathryn is a Kundalini Research Institute (KRI) certified Level One and Level Two teacher, having trained with SKY and Amrit Nam Sarovar. She is also a certified Conscious Pregnancy and Radiant Child Yoga teacher.
Kathryn is passionate about sharing these inspiring and uplifting teachings with as many people as possible. Watkins commissioned and published Kathryn’s first book, Kundalini Meditation – The path to personal transformation and creativity, which was released in the US in November 2012 and in the UK and Australia in March 2013. It has now been translated into Dutch, Italian and French and is available to buy in English, along with her mantra meditation CD’s.

“Working with Kathryn one to one over the last couple of years has been an amazing experience. She is both an inspiring and challenging teacher and this has enabled me to create changes in my body and mind that I never dreamed possible before. With her help, I have been able to shift both emotional and physical patterns that were blocking me and achieve a far greater sense of self.” Claire, London
The retreat begins on the evening of July 4th and will end after breakfast on the morning of July 8th.
Your day will begin with an energising morning yoga class followed by a delicious breakfast served on the terrace. There will be plenty of time to relax, swim in the beautiful salt-water pool, read, enjoy the gardens of La Balie or explore the local villages. Our early evening class will include a meditation and a relaxing gong bath, followed by a nourishing vegetarian dinner.
Each class will include movement, mantra, meditation, dance and transformative breath work to calm the body and mind and elevate the spirit.
Daily yoga practice will take place either in our beautiful studio with stunning views over rolling countryside or outside in the meadow where practice will end with the sound of the ancient church bells rolling gently through the valley, as they have for hundreds of years.
“I regularly practised Kundalini Yoga with Kathryn and she played an important part in my own personal development. I am now a Kundalini teacher myself and understand what an amazing teacher she really is in her ability to inspire and uplift students. She is truly an authentic teacher of the highest calibre. If I just need to practise Kundalini yoga in a group then Kathryn’s is the class I head for.” Simon, London
La Balie is a collection of beautiful 16th Century farm buildings three of which have been converted into light and airy cottages containing a total of eight charming bedrooms each with their own luxury bathroom. Each of the cottages has its own sitting room, fully equipped kitchen, satellite TV and WiFi.

“… whenever possible I tried to attend classes with Catherine. Her voice, the way she teaches and her reassurance that one can do things even if one feels they cannot was wonderful. I felt that time with her was like a trip to a place where one could recharge, find peace and contribute to peace in this hectic world.” Hugo, London
