Annabel brings her architect’s creativity, precision and love of spaciousness to her teaching. She offers elegantly-crafted sequences, designed to nourish and brighten body and soul. Her classes are characterised by clear instructions and a balance of intelligent alignment with fluid movement.
Annabel’s teaching is informed by her trainings in Hatha yoga (with Triyoga), Anusara yoga (with Bridget Woods Kramer), restorative yoga (with Anna Ashby) and meditation (with Sally Kempton).
She is currently taking an advanced 300 hour teacher training with Sianna Sherman
After originally training to become a doctor, Andrew moved away from western medicine to pursue a career as a yoga teacher, massage therapist and anatomy teacher.
Based in London, Andrew has been practicing yoga and meditation for 10 years and teaching strong, grounding, alignment based classes since 2009. Using his vast experience and anatomical knowledge he has also created his own style of therapeutic deep fibre massage.
Andrew combines all of his skills to teach anatomy and physiology on Yoga Teacher Training courses across London and internationally. His teachers include Hamish Henry, Paul Dallaghan, Eileen Gauthier and Kristin Campbell.

Your day will begin with a delicious light breakfast served on the terrace, after which there’ll be a morning yoga class. This will be an energising and uplifting practice, with alignment, some flow, breathwork and philosophy woven through. After lunch there will be plenty of time to relax, swimming in the beautiful salt water pool, or exploring the local villages. There will also be a late afternoon yoga session, which will include restorative postures and meditation, as well as some fun explorations of anatomy and alignment. Daily yoga practice will take place either in our beautiful studio with stunning views over rolling countryside or outside in the meadow where practice will end with the sound of the ancient church bells rolling gently through the valley, as they have for hundreds of years.
“The yoga retreat with Andrew McGonigle and Annabel Chown was exceptional. Every class was thought out in meticulous detail and flowed beautifully from the one before, pacing the group’s energy levels, goals and mood perfectly. The classes were challenging, stimulating, energising, highly relaxing and lots of fun – Deborah F-W
